WE DID IT!  CITY COUNCIL VOTED AGAINST THE MEGA DEVELOPMENT OF 544 NEW HOMES!

Thank you to each and every concerned citizen of Chesapeake who took time from their busy lives to write to city council, attend the meetings, express opinions and show genuine care and concern for our schools and our city!  It was a very long meeting ending after 11:30 PM last night.  However, we are happy that a decision has been made and there are no more delays, no more continuations and a decision against this development has been made.

Please note how your city council representatives voted below.  Council Member Robert C. Ike Jr. voted for a 90 day continuance of this project and Council Member Ella Ward seconded this motion.  The other voting council members voted against continuing the vote.  Everyone except for Council Member Robert C Ike Jr voted against the development.  Please note that he has voted for the approval of every new construction development despite city staff, school board and citizens recommendations against this and previous developments as well.
